- Reduced Operating Expenses
Welcome to Concept Renewable:
School Initiative:
Throughout the country schools are confronting multiple challenges - shrinking
budgets, increasing student to teacher ratios, escalating costs, and deteriorating
physical plants.
The unprecedented pressure of the current budget crisis impacting many states and
the Federal Government will affect all schools and districts. The schools’ focus on
dealing with these issues compromises their ability to mount innovative initiatives that
are fundamental to progressive and effective education.
CRs blend of products, lesson plans, and site specific data collection methodology
assures a compelling learning experience and creates a program that addresses the
baseline for product effectiveness. In addition, immediate cost savings are realized
as energy expenses are reduced and a mechanism is put in place to help realize
larger future cost savings.
- Valuable New Lesson Plans
- Promotion of STEM education
- Utilities are a School's Second
Largest Budget Item
- US Schools Spend Over $6
Billion in Direct Energy Costs
- Schools Could Save 50% of
Their Energy Costs
- Savings Could Pay for New
Teachers or Textbooks
Concept Renewable (CR) has developed proprietary education materials which, when
combined with renewable energy products, provide both a unique learning experience
and real energy cost savings. This energy laboratory features environmental, energy,
and sustainability lesson plans designed to supplement and enhance curricula through
hands-on activities, a web-based product monitoring system, interactive displays, and
partnerships with Universities prominent in the ecological and conservation movements.
Concept Renewable has created a series of public and private partnerships featuring
carefully selected vendors, colleges and universities, utility companies, and other
interested entities. The projects developed by these groups provide each school a
combination of an energy management system, renewable energy products (wind
turbines and solar arrays), and proprietary lesson plans which support curriculum
enhancements in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education
Specifically, CR:
- Secures a general initial funding commitment from corporations, foundations,
or governmental entities to procure and install renewable energy products and
educational packages
- Performs individual site assessments and develops a menu of fully metered,
monitored, and warranted products for the school's review and approval
- Submits a full proposal to the grantor to obtain the necessary funding
- Purchases the products, obtains the permits, and coordinates the installation
process
- Provides initial teacher workshops and ongoing support
